The first line says it all: "A Californian nudist whose feet were burned during a fire-walk is suing the event's organisers."

"Uh, hi.. I walked on some like, burning wood, you know? At the Nude Recreation convention? And like, I burned my feet! I'm suing!!"

Um. DOY! (Link from freakgirl.)

Here's an odd little experiment: a woman dresses up as a bride and wanders around by herself in Chicago, doing normal errands. It does seem strange to see the bride using the ATM, or doing laundry.

"...the generally accepted rule is pink for the boy and blue for the girl. The reason is that pink being a more decided and stronger color is more suitable for the boy; while blue, which is more delicate and dainty, is prettier for the girl."

Who knew? Pre World War II, it wasn't pink for girls, blue for boys. Here's a picture of a boy's sailor suit from the early 1900s, with lots of pink. (Link from girlhacker.)

"...the True Mirror lets you see yourself as the world does, not in reverse as with conventional mirrors."

Another wacky idea from the Neiman Marcus 2001 Christmas Book. Other items include a gumball machine that delivers a gumball when you answer the phone, and a gingerbread house built in the shape of your own. That's only $4000. You can also be a Rockette for an evening--only $10,000 for that one. Except, not if you live in Indiana, Mississippi, North Dakota, or Utah--they have laws against things like that. Here's a "Belief System Selector". It asks you a number of questions and rates which belief system/religion you seem most compatible with.

Here are my top 3:

Secular Humanism (100%)
Unitarian Universalism (89%)
Atheists and Agnostics (76%)

I have to say, the description for Secular Humanism really seems to match with my beliefs. It's not a term I was very familiar with before, but while watching Bedazzled the other night (don't ask), one of the characters said, "Isn't Secular Humanism yummy?"

A very interesting page from Snopes, the ultimate Urban Legend reference. It's a collection of links relating to urban legends surrounding the terrorist attacks. Examples:

TRUE: The planned cover for a hip-hop album due to be released in November depicted an exploding World Trade Center.

FALSE: A photograph captured an unlucky tourist posing on the observation deck of a World Trade Center tower seconds before a hijacked airliner smashed into the building.

Take a look at this picture very carefully. Look just to the right of bin Laden in the poster. Recognize someone? As of now, this is still a mystery...there are various photos of this protest in Bangladesh, and Bert's in all of them, so it doesn't appear to a be a doctored photo. Lots of theories going around.
