Under pressure from one of my millions of readers (thanks Paul!) I am posting an update.

Since it's been a while, here's a random list of things I've been up to in the last couple of months:

Saw the Barenaked Ladies in concert (yes, again) for their Barenaked for the Holidays tour. We had excellent seats in the 2nd row, though they were on the side of the stage so we spent a lot of time looking at the backs of Ed and Steve. It was a very fun show--they had a children's choir since a few songs in the beginning, and then the guys joined in for a couple more.

Saw a few movies. King Kong, which I hated (I simply couldn't get behind a huge ape being in love with a tiny blonde woman--it'd be like me falling in love with a mouse), and Chronicles of Narnia, which I really liked. We also rented two movies set in Africa, Hotel Rwanda and the Constant Gardener, both of which were excellent though terribly depressing.

We have a rat living under the compost pile. Chris named him Roland.

I tried a new recipe recently--pot pies. Chris loves pot pies, but since they're usually meat-based, I've never made them. My aunt gave me a new cookbook for Christmas, and it has veggie pot pies. (I don't make the dough, I just use pastry puff dough.) They're pretty tasty.

Speaking of Christmas presents, Chris got me a guard duck. (It's a duck that has a motion sensor, and when you walk past it says QUACK QUACK! QUACK QUACK!) We put it out for a party recently and I don't know if the guests found it amusing, but I certainly did. We decided not to leave it out all the time, since we really don't want to get on the bad side of the mailman.

Finally, here's a link to my Flickr photo Flickr rates as "most interesting".
