Went to Vancouver last week. I haven't been there since the Expo in 1986. I don't remember much about the Expo, except we went into the France pavillion, where Cindy spoke her high-school French to one of the people working there, and when we went out she said "Oh no! I called him tu instead of vous!"

I also got a Yugoslavia keychain (I was big into Yugoslavia then) which I lost not long afterwards at a party. Martin, is my keychain in your parents' backyard?

Anyway, the trip. It was beautiful seeing the snow-capped mountains; unfortunately I had to spend all my time indoors in meetings with no windows, but they looked nice from my view out of the taxi window.

I was surprised during my meetings to find Canadians making fun of Canadians. Sample joke: "How did Canada get its name? They put a bunch of letters into a hat. First guy pulls one out, say 'I got a C, eh?' Second guy says, 'I got an N, eh?' and.. wait for it.. third guy says, 'I got a D, eh?'. I think Americans should emulate this behavior; we often take ourselves way too seriously.
