One of the things that really impressed me about New Zealand was their toilets. They're way ahead of us. Most of the toilets I encountered there have two buttons--one that flushes with a small amount of water, and one for bigger flushes. Brilliant! Ecologically savvy! And not one of those silly inventions like the Japanese toilets with a button that simulates the sound of a flush to mask "embarrassing noises" for women. Because I guess the same noises are not embarrassing if you're a man.
