Remember that game Mousetrap? Here's a life-size version.

Last week we had the pipes in our house replaced. Yes, all of them. Our house was built when galvanized pipes were all the rage, and they'd become very clogged with gunk over the years. It took 4 minutes for the water in our shower to get hot, and the water pressure left a lot to be desired.

The piping team came over at 8 AM on Thursday and the water was back on by 5:00. They did the whole house in one day (copper pipes). They had to make various holes in the walls throughout the house, but I was amazed at how small and how few holes there really were. They had to leave those open for the inspector, who came on Friday and pronounced the work ok. Friday afternoon the drywalling team came and patched all the holes.

Saturday we spent the day cleaning up--there was a thin layer of dust over everything in the house--and Chris painted the patched areas. Our water pressure is much improved, and it only takes 40 seconds now for the shower to heat up. Woo hoo!
