Another Friday Five:

1. You've just won a complete collection of movies starring one actor - what actor would you pick? Gee. That's a toughie. I'll give you a hint: Harrison Ford.

2. What was the last movie you saw in a theater? The Royal Tenenbaums. Very good.

3. What was the last video or DVD that you bought? Err...last one I bought was a gift for Chris, a soccer video about one of his favorite coaches (Brian Clough for those who care about English football) and who he'd pick to be on his all-star team. Last one someone got for me, from Chris, the first series of the TV show All Creatures Great and Small. It rules.

4. What movie could you watch over and over again and not get sick of? Oh I don't know, which movie have I watched over and over and not gotten sick of? Could it be...Star Wars?

5. How do you plan to spend your weekend? Lots of sleeping. Finally see Lord of the Rings. Get outside if it's still sunny.

Oh dear...links from my high school to the al Qadea:
Other English texts appeared to be weathered castoffs, perhaps purchased at used bookstores in the West. Among them was Chemistry: an Experimental Science, from the Las Lomas High School library in Walnut Creek, Calif. A stamp by the librarian marked the book, published in 1966, as being in ''poor'' condition after two students returned it on unlisted dates sometime before 1973.
All we did in chemistry was make peanut brittle and tell bad jokes about Moles. Honest. (Link from andy)

Some amusing video game movie spoofs, including "Ken Burns' Frogger" and "Pong: The Movie". (Link from alex)

According to AnyBirthday.com, October 5th is the most popular birthdate in the United States. The least popular is May 22nd. (Link from pcjm)

So 'NSync is going to be in the next Star Wars movie. "The guys will be seen for a fleeting moment in a 'big scene with lots of extras.'"

Okay, so Phantom Menance was a disappointment. But honestly, how could it not be? It wasn't a disappointment for the 10-year-olds. Star Wars was a special movie because of when it was created. It was new and innovative for its time, but the acting was medicore, the story contained all the standard elements. It was magic because it began a new age of movies and special effects.

I don't think anything could have lived up to the twenty-year hype. (Link from wilwheaton.net)

Hey, I've posted nothing in a week, time for another Friday Five..

1. What was your biggest accomplishment this year? I would have to say going backpacking successfully for the first time, and not only that, but doing it three times. I love the outdoors but I've never been a big camper. Also, climbing up a 15-foot rope during our hike in Hawaii, and jumping off a 12-foot rock into the water below.

2. What was your biggest disappointment? Harrison Ford getting divorced.

3. Will you be making any New Year's resolutions? Nothing official. The usual, exercise more.

4. Where do you wish you were celebrating? Right here.

5. What do you plan to do for New Year's Eve? Did exactly as planned: went over to some friends, played games, ate snack food, and watched Dick Clark. It was nice.
